Air Travel To San Salvador

We live in the United States so getting to San Salvador by means of air travel was quick and easy. (We only had three days to plan)

Taca International Airlines was our choice. It was a red-eye non-stop flight to San Salvador. If you decide to use Taca remember, it is a five hour trip, there wasn't a meal, so bring snacks.

What about planned travel? Well, that is where you have some control over how much to pay, where to fly out of and when to leave.

Airfare will be less expensive if the tickets are purchased at least two weeks in advance. Also, mid-week flights are cheaper especially if it is during off-peak-season.

To save even more money consider flying through Guatemala City or into San Jose, Cost Rica. Although other airlines such as United stop in San Salvador, look for air carriers that go through big cities with many flights.

After we arrived at El Salvador International Airport in Comalapa, we were picked up and driven to El Salvador, which is about an hour drive from the airport.
