Check Out the El Salvador Quesadilla Recipe
I guess I haven't raved about this sweet dessert enough. After only one bite of the El Salvador Quesadilla, I knew I had to learn how to make it no matter what it took. After I found this recipe I simplified some of the ingredients.
The Parmesan cheese I purchased was a 7oz block of cheese, I grated it myself. I thought of being lazy and just buying the pre-grated stuff you put over spaghetti, but fresh is always best.
Less fat no problem. Try lite sour cream or fat free sour cream. I'm sure you could also experiment with a sugar substitute, although I don't know how much that would change the original taste of the bread.
The Recipe
* 1 Cup Flour * 1.5 Cups Sugar * 1 Cup Sour Cream * 4 oz Parmesan Cheese (grated) * 4 eggs * 2 sticks butter * 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder * Sesame SeedsMix butter and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at the time. Sift flour and Baking powder. Add to sugar mixture little by little. Add sour cream, Parmesan cheese mixing well. Butter or use non-stick spray. Use a cookie sheet with sides. Spread mixture evenly. Decorate with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Check on it often.
