Our Favorite El Salvador Restaurants
Almost all El Salvador restaurants will satisfy even the pickiest eater. El Salvador is a city with many places to eat. From a roadside stand to "pricey cuisine."
Felipes is inexpensive and serves basic El Salvadoran food. It is across the street from the hotel we stayed in. We often ordered meals to go and put it in the refrigerator in our room for later. Felipes is famous for their "Res Tortas."

Tipicos Margoth Another low cost restaurant where you can try the famous Pupusas. A warm corn tortilla stuffed with either white cheese, shredded pork or beans. Tasty!

Hacienda Real is for people who really enjoy beef. It is a little pricey but well worth it.
Royal is moderately priced, and was by far my favorite restaurant. The funny thing is, it is a Chinese restaurant go figure! The food was incredible. Try the house fried rice. The egg rolls aren't too bad either.

On the sweeter side, if I had to recommend a food that would make your taste buds sing it would be the El Salvador Quesadilla. Unlike the Mexican quesadilla, which is melted cheese folded into a flour tortilla. The El Salvador Quesadilla is a sweet bread made with flour, butter, sugar and Parmesan cheese topped with sesame seeds. It tastes heavenly and you can pick one up hot out of the oven from La Posada for $4.00 each. If you want to be adventurous and make one yourself. This would be great for the holidays. Here is the
